The 4 Entrepreneur TV Shows You Need to See
Cast of Planet of the Apps. Left to Right: Jessica Alba, Will. I. Am, Gwyneth Paltrow, Gary Vaynerchuk |
Planet of the Apps
I've talked about Gary V and his show Planet of the Apps before. PotA is an upbeat tech/app (hence the name) focused series that combines Sharktank, a 1 minute elevator pitch, and business savvy celebrities into a fun, intense, dogfight over investees. The one minute to share their idea is a great way they can sort out who's not gonna waste the investors' time. Another unique feature is after a celebrity picks them, the investee gets prepared by their mentor to go in front of 4 venture capitalists and make an improved version of their pitch to raise capital for their apps. While this is very stressful, it's fun to see celebrities like Jessica Alba not just in movies but making smart business deals and seeing cutting edge tech.

Dragon's Den
Shark Tank before Shark Tank and British. We in America love our British shows so add this one to your list. It's more euro-centric which is a huge benefit if you want an international flavor. They have a variety of people from different european countries on and it really gives a different dimension to the typical format. Other than that though, it's pretty similar to other investment-entrepreneur shows.
This one airs on BBC.
Entrepreneur Elevator Pitch
Entrepreneur.com decided to get in on the action and invent their own show Entrepreneur Elevator Pitch. From Entrepreneur, "In each episode, hopeful founders step into the Entrepreneur Elevator and have just one minute to present their idea, product or business. If the panel of highly influential investors likes what they hear, the doors open. If not, it's back to the ground floor. Aspiring entrepreneurs who make it to the top floor have just 5 minutes to impress the investors and shake on a deal." So its like others I've just mentioned, but the important part of this show is highlighting the pitch. Seeing what works for investors and what doesn't. It's another fun one that you can view right at Entrepreneur.com
Billion Dollar Buyer
This one is quite different from the previously mentioned. CEO, Billionaire Tilman Fertitta uses his business experience to help aspiring entrepreneurs to improve their operations, their products, and their goals. As successful as he is sometimes these people just don't want to hear it so it makes for some awesome television.
Catch this one on CNBC.
I don't care which one you watch but if you are looking for inspiration or entertainment, pick one of these well produced shows and watch it! (Sorry Mark Cuban)
